There are several different types of advice a stockbroker gives to his client: Buy, Hold or Sell. The advice to hold means, don't buy it if you don't have it yet and don't sell yet if you already own it. That is the same advice I have to give right now on Globe Visibility. It's a bit to early to write it off. I have a hunch the current slowdown, now on its ninth day, is linked to the use of Globe's wireless facilities to report election results. If that is the case, everything should be back to normal in a few days. For the seven months that I have been using Globe 's wireless service, this is the second time that it suffers poor performance for an extended period of time. The first was after the December 2006 earthquake. Not a deal breaker yet if you ask me. But I really cannot recommend that someone avail of the service right now.You may want to call Globe's Customer Service so they know we are not happy. Don't expect a explanation. They do not have the faintest idea of what is going on. The problem is widespread with users at TipidPC and a post at Macalua.com reporting identical problems. Obviously, they know they have a network congestion problem. A explanation or advisory would be nice.
Best advice I can give you is to go to GPRS/EDGE mode. It is a bit more stable but page requests still do time out. Smart 3G is working fine. If you really need to avail of a wireless service right now, I would really have to recommend Smart 3G.

Great....just ordered one last week.
Things might be back normal by the time you get it... hopefully...
I agree completely. Sucks to be on the 3G/HSDPA network on Globe Visibility right now. Election coverage could be the culprit. Like you, I think we deserve to be told when these types of 'disturbances' occur. No point 'idiotizing' the early adopters.
it's a brand new network like when 2G started in 1990's in the phils. give it a break--birth pains are already to be expected.
i'm an early adopter, visibility user, and i've accepted things won't be perfect with any new technology in the beginning.
I think the problem is just network congestion. At night past 12-2 A.M., it goes back to its old fast self... until about 8-9 a.m. when it starts to crawl again. GPRS/EDGE is better, but I get the feeling the more of us are using that, since that too is starting to slow down.
hey guys, dont you think we deserve a rebate from all of this network congestion we had experienced. Since the connection speed dont give justice at all considering its price/monthly fee.
The same thing as they did when the Taiwan's quake hits the net last December.
DArn I cant imagined, i kept complaining with the Customer Service Respresentatives not realising that really, they dont have the faintest idea of whats goin on. Worst, they dont know much about visibility.
FYI...calling 2199 hotline using yer mobile for customer service support about Globe visibility will be of much help compare than calling 211 or 730-1000 they can better address yer concerns about visibility.
Globe has granted rebates and bill reversals to some subscribers. But you have to request for it. If you don't they won't give it to you.
Seesh!!
I just got an LG KU250 from them earlier.
I should've gotten it from SMART.
Does anyone here know where I can have it open lined? and for how much?
